On the Road Towards Rawr-ness

Oh the sleek-109lb-runner-that-used-to-be-me… Wherefore art thou?

I can’t tell you how shocked I was when I saw a pic from the last 4th of July weekend. All I could think was, if I was a Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, I would be Chunky Monkey. And being one point on the BMI scale away from “overweight” wasn’t exactly pleasing either.

So in the days following July 4th, 2008, I pulled myself together and decided to “experiment” and see what would happen if I worked out every day. I originally committed to one month – and ONE month only! – but before I knew it, the date was Sept. 3, 2008 and I exercised for 56 consecutive days. The best part? Those 56 days include exercising during a vacation!

To hold myself accountable, I originally started blogging my progress on 43things.com and later here. With the advances I was making, I figured I should start tracking my food intake to make sure I didn’t under/overeat, which is how SparksPeople came into the picture (if you join, tell them KittyRoxx sent you!). With all the awesome tools SP has to offer aside from nutrition and fitness tracking, I feel that my membership there was the perfect (fat-free zero-calorie and gluten-free!) icing on the cake for me.

My goal is to get in the best possible shape of my life. I am:
* 1 year away from my wedding
* 1.5 years before my 30th birthday, and
* A few years away from considering the possibility of starting a family…

…and I want to go into all these things as healthful – and looking the BEST! – as possible. (Pamela Anderson – look out! haha jk)

Note: As of Sept. 1, this blog will be dedicated towards my road towards a healthier, fitter me. Incorporating my fitness and non-fitness goals created a clutter that not even the wizards at Clean House could fix.
