Get Fit: I Did It!

After 50 straight days of working out, I lost weight and feeling great!

Who knew that I – a previously sedentary person – could power walk 6 miles a day and no longer feel the consequences?

Now the hard part is keeping this up… despite all the holiday vacations I have planned!

I gave myself my usual weekly mud mask today.

Combine it with a deep conditioning hair treatment and a delicious bubble bath… Mmm.

Day 49: 6 mile walk and run (incl C25K Week 3 twice)

Week total: 18.0 miles
Aug. total: 161.7


Day 50: 6 mile walk (14:30/mi)

Week total: 24.0 miles
Aug. total: 167.7 miles


It came to me in the shower today (as many of my major epiphanies!) as to when I will finally consider this goal completed.

60 is the key word/number, as in DAY 60. Two months of working out every day (not to mention 9 pounds lost woohoo!) is killer. If I manage to use the hotel’s fitness facilities this weekend (who the hell works out on their vacation???) AND still workout regularly next week, then I will be confident in considering myself an official daily exerciser.

C25K: Week 3, Day 1

How Goes It…

Wow am I on Week 3 already? Yay me!

Did the program twice again, both time with Mr. Ullery.

The first time was murder as usual, nothing new. Darn hills!

Second time was a breeze… Running the 3 minutes is pretty fun when you’re on flat land.

Thoughts While Running…

I am carrying way too much stuff. Water bottle + phone + iPod makes me feel like I’m running away from home. In fact, why not toss my cat in there too for kicks. I can see why the iPhone is soo ideal next to my 25-pound Treo that can’t play music but can go on the Internet pretty well. (I carry my phone because the one time I don’t, some rabid bulldog will rip my leg off and I won’t have my phone to call help) Anyway. Maybe the dreaded fanny pack is in order. GASP Am I so dedicated that I will commit that fashion faux paux? (Just kidding. There are some fine fanny packs. I just need to find them)

And omG the weather was brutal today! 100% humidity and I could literally feel the sun beating down my skin while the sun made a joke out of my sunblock. “SPF 50? Whatevers! MUAHAHAHA

On the upside, my arms look pretty damn sexy when glistening in sweat.

How Goes It…

(Did this on Saturday) I imagine sliding my head into a lion’s open mouth would have felt much more pleasant. Oh boo. I shouldn’t be so negative, considering that my first go-around at this is ALL HILLS, because during the second time I did it, it was pretty much flat and much nicer/effortless.

Did both DJ Steve Boy’s and Robert Ullery’s versions today. Oh do I love Robert’s silky cheery voice!

I’m done with RealAge!

After signing up for SparksPeople, I realized that 1) the new plan had me overeating and 2) I was eating just fine before.

Eat Healthy: New Plan

I decided to adjust my diet according to RealAge’s suggestions (am I taking them too seriously?). This is way more food than I’m used to, so I’m not sure how this is going to work out. I am, however, sold on flushing my bod with nutrients, so I won’t knock it til I try it.

My new plan:

  1. Balanced Breakfast – I’m typically a peanut butter on toast kinda gal, but I’m making egg with cheese sandwiches (w/slice of tomato) along with a glass of OJ. I feel nauseated eating that much and if this continues than I’ll just go back to pb on toast plus the OJ and maybe some cheese (fiber + protein + calcium + veggie + potassium + Vit C)
  2. Morning Snack – Banana and V8. It actually makes me too full for lunch but maybe it will make me eat less for lunch? (potassium + Vit C)
  3. Cook my lunches – Fish and rice or something similar with protein in it. Or if eating a protein dinner, have a baked potato with some light sour cream (protein + fiber or potassium + fiber + calcium)
  4. Afternoon Snack – Protein shake (protein + calcium)
  5. Dinner – Big salad (or protein dinner if baked potato for lunch) (veggies or protein)
